The countryside next door

We all feel better when we have access to fresh air, peace and quiet and a space to unwind. That’s why working to protect and enhance the Green Belt and local countryside that give our towns and cities room to breathe, providing green spaces for everyone to enjoy for generations to come.

CPRE wants more people to be able to access and connect with Surrey’s countryside. So we’re campaigning to protect the Green Belt and ensure that new development is planned in such a way as to enhance our green spaces, which are vital for people’s mental health and physical wellbeing.

We’re also calling for more land in Surrey to be dedicated to nature and tranquillity. We want local councils to come forward with plans that deliver the right development in the right places, instead of gobbling up our countryside.
